Re-Opening Press Release!

After being closed for almost 18 months we’re proud to announce – we are now open!

 

During lockdown, the team have been working very hard to build new displays, upgrade facilities and enhance the visitor experience.

The museum has been made Covid safe by the introduction of a one-way route that leads visitors through each of the rooms.

To complement the new displays we recently launched our brand new website! We’re pleased to welcome you here!

 

New attractions include:-
Brand new Wilfred Owen display including a fantastic oil painting by a local artist which was previously on display in Shrewsbury.

Brand new Oswestry Diaries display featuring Hands, Face and Space through the ages this is in conjunction with the Marches School Lockdown Diaries initiative.

Note, students from the Marches school will be present in the museum on Friday 11 th June 10-12 to interview visitors and invited guests about their lockdown experiences, if you have a story to tell phone Mark at the museum to book your slot now.

Brand New visual opportunity, films, pictures and presentations about Oswestry on the small screen for you to sit and watch!

Brand New household from the past, view items that we in common use in bygone years.

Look through our new picture galleries, twinning display and get a sneak peek at what the Heritage Open Days Festival will have in store this coming September!
